Supporting each other at SBN Demo 2

Supporting each other at SBN Demo 2

We all know that the Severn Business Network is a little bit special - we will be marking 10 years this year and some of our members have been with the group since day one!

Our Thursday morning meetings are the highlight of many diaries and not just because of the full English served by our hosts at Shrewsbury Town Football Club.

Seeing our members supporting each other and reaching out further to support other enterprising Shropshire business folk is a real delight.

IT guru Graham Skeats recently introduced us to Planetbox, a Young Enterprise project designed by his niece Rihanna who attends Newport High School. The youngster has created a range of eco-boxes offering environmentally friendly products.

The Workaholic box has a bamboo travel mug, three Sharp newspaper pencils and a recycled paper notebook. The Lifestyle box delivers a bamboo travel mug, three metal straws, straw cleaner, and a bamboo toothbrush.

At a recent meeting Steff Henson from Six Ticks was presented with her box which she had purchased through Graham for just £10.

Members are also regular shoppers at Pengwern Books and owner Susan Caroline regularly attends networking sessions laden down with deliveries for members.

Not to mention the delicious fresh vegetables Dimitar from Box of Goodness provides to members’ homes every Wednesday (allowing the efficient return of many empty boxes on a Thursday morning!!).

We are a not for profit organisation and we all strive to make networking fun and profitable for us as individual businesses.

Personal recommendations are increasingly important and we take the time to get to know each other as members because supporting each other is key to the success of SBN.

And if we can raise the profile of young entrepreneurs along the way then we are all doing a fabulous job!
