Care home for the elderly is planning an extension with 2Scale Architects
A Shrewsbury care home for the elderly, which was originally built in 1989 by its owners, is planning to expand. Having purchased the property next door they contacted 2Scale Architects to design the extension to their business. The initial contact was made in October having looked at our website (developed by Six Ticks) They telephoned while the Principals of 2Scale Architects were on holiday in Spain and so the call was fielded by Jane Shaw (JS Business & Admin) and passed on to Nick Fisher. The Clients were impressed that we continue to operate while out of the country and that we are a family run business, as are the clients.
The existing care home has 29 rooms for residents but also provides day care. the extension is to provide at least 15 further bedrooms with en-suite facilities but will also provide dining rooms, kitchen facilities, break out spaces, laundry room and other ancillary rooms.
The building survey has been undertaken by 2Scale Architects and the land topographical survey of both properties has been commissioned, Advantage Geomatics (a fourth SBN member to be involved in the project so far) will be surveying the grounds in the coming weeks. The fun then begins when we commence the design process.
