Pengwern Books
About Pengwern Books
Located on Fish Street in the heart of Shrewsbury, Pengwern Books has been serving book lovers in the town and beyond for over 17 years. With a small but carefully curated stock, readers will find something different from the mainstream on the shelves and what isn’t there can be swiftly ordered. But more importantly, Pengwern offers a first class browsing experience. Browsing is something that online retailers and the big chains just don’t do as well, if at all, and Pengwern Books is particularly good at.
I started Pengwern Books from scratch on Fish Street what now seems like a lifetime ago, before the financial crash, with a great team of people. Since 2004, Pengwern has also occupied Shrewsbury’s most haunted shop, a medieval church and a stall in Shrewsbury’s award-winning Market, before we found our way back to Fish Street in 2014. My wonderful, original team are still around and even though they have moved on, the band gets back together from time to time.
Pengwern and I have plans for the future and, with the help of Hannah, our new friend and ally, we will continue to do everything we can for our lovely friends and customers.
